Antique Victorian Sterling Silver & Gold Vermeil 3D Flowers Locket Pendant

This is a superb quality Victorian silver and gold locket. It is absolutely wonderful, It comes with all the trimmings: Heavy silver with yellow and rose gold applied decorations, totally 3 dimensional silver flowers, twisted rope wire and beading, a rose gold frame and more baubles ... So much going on, and yet it doesn’t look too busy, it is just beautiful.

From research, during the Victorian era, in order for the message to be understood, one used a flower (or other object such as fruit) to be handed out. I am unsure what type of flowers these are but they had to be symbolic since it was created during the Victorian era.

Besides the normal surface wear, the overall condition is exceptionally impressive. This locket has light superficial scratches, it is in amazing shape with a sturdy and firm hinge and closes securely. This locket opens to reveal two clear covers to keep photos securely stored away.

For the sake of accuracy, there are highs on the rose gold plating under close inspections. Also, there are a couple of minuscule dings on the back cover, no damages, and no repairs! Just incredible (photo #6). It is in excellent antique condition with slight patina. It has not been professionally cleaned. I leave this up to the new owner. I have only gently wiped with soft jewelry cleaning cloth.
