Antique Victorian Scottish Sterling Silver Agate Padlock Pendant with Forget-Me-Not Engraving

This exquisite padlock offers two distinct looks, featuring a stunning Agate on one side and a beautifully hand-engraved Forget-Me-Not flower on the other.

In the Victorian era, flowers (or objects like fruit) were often given to convey specific messages. The Forget-Me-Not flower symbolized true, undying love, making this padlock a deeply meaningful treasure.

The lock mechanism functions perfectly. Tested to be sterling silver, the padlock is unmarked, which is typical for the period. These antique padlocks, often used as fasteners for necklaces or bracelets, are highly sought after and increasingly difficult to find in such good condition.

Aside from normal wear, the overall condition is remarkable. There are no repairs or damages, though under a loupe, a couple of minuscule flea bites can be seen on the stone's edge.

The padlock has developed a light patina and has not been professionally cleaned, allowing the new owner to decide how to maintain it. I have only gently wiped it with a soft jewelry cleaning cloth.
