Reclaimed Victorian Pool of Light Rock Crystal Sterling Silver Ornate Fob Long Tassel Pendant.

Pools of Light jewelry is characterized by perfect transparent spheres of rock crystal quartz. These crystal balls were believed to have mystical properties and to bring the wearer good luck. The spheres were never drilled through the center for stringing as beads, but were set into jewelry with attachments to the outside so that their perfectly clear nature remains pure. As the lore goes, the perfect sphere captured energy — if drilled through, the good luck/energy would escape.

The perfect spherical shape and highly polished surface gives these orbs wonderful optical effects, reflecting everything around them upside down and backwards. These crystal balls handle light in much the same way as convex lenses do.

I made this wonderful pendant with an original antique Victorian tassel and an antique Pool of Light rock crystal.

This Victorian tassel was tested to be sterling silver, it is unmarked which is typical. Overall, it is a stunning and versatile pendant! The metal holding the orb was also tested to be sterling silver.

Besides the normal wear, the overall condition is superb with light surface scratches. There are no missing beads at the bottom, or kinks or damage to the tassel chains. This one of a kind pendant can be wore alone or with other pendants. There are no repairs or damages. Antique components have been lightly cleaned, this pendant is ready to wear or give as a gift. A very beautiful original tassel and a rock crystal like this is rare to find these days and highly desirable!

Brand new jump rings and a brand new antique style swivel dog clip, all sterling silver, has been attached to this pendant to easily clip on or off to any chain. The swivel dog clip allows this tassel to easily be turned to the other side. This will allow the wearer to interchange the side of the design at any time!
