Rare Victorian 1886 Rd. Silver Scythe Pin Brooch.
This rare Victorian pin is marked with the patent "RD NO 42461". The pin is straight, and it is functioning very well. This is in amazing condition, not much wear except the beautiful aged patina.
This brooch was tested to be sterling silver. A lovely seller informed me that the large "rings", one in front and one in back, they are there to hold some dried heather or some other dried flower or wheat. Pretty neat!
There are no apparent repairs or damages, just some patina. Besides the patina, it has not been professionally cleaned. I leave this up to the new owner. I have only gently wiped with soft jewelry cleaning cloth.
Mark(s): "RD NO 42461". Tested as sterling silver.
