Long Niello 800 Silver Sautoir Muff Guard Chain Necklace.

This antique Niello long guard is in amazing condition. This chain is easily adjusted to be wearable as a long necklace or twice round as a shorter necklace or few times around as a bracelet.

Besides the normal wear, the overall condition is lovely. There is much loss to the rose gold plating but very little to the niello. From experiences, it must have been machine polished in excess to cause this. Otherwise the links are all in great condition. Under inspection, the entire chain is in spectacular shape with a couple of misshaped links (see photo #6).

The spring clasp and the dog clips are in great condition and functions very well. There are some patina and has not been professionally cleaned. I leave this up to the new owner. I have only gently wiped with soft jewelry cleaning cloth. This is ready to wear or to gift!

Mark(s): Maker's mark "S&S" and the silver purity of "800". Also tested as 800 silver.

Chain Length Approximately: 41.125" inches, chain only // 42.75” inches, does not include the spring clasp.

Chain Weight Approximately: 18.3 grams.
