Antique Victorian Sterling Silver Rose, Yellow & Green Gold Vermeil Collar Book Chain Necklace
Antique Victorian Sterling Silver Rose, Yellow & Green Gold Vermeil Collar Book Chain Necklace
This phenomenal double-sided Victorian sterling silver collar was handcrafted in England circa 1880s. A generous size in wonderful condition—no damages or repairs. One side features exquisite rose gold and yellow gold flower engravings with greenish-yellow gold leaves; the reverse is plain, ideal for casual wear with tees and jeans.
Smaller links showcase delicate floral engravings, while larger ones bear intentional hand-sketched designs—like an artist’s unfinished painting. A true piece of wearable antique art.
The central locket/pendant detaches easily, allowing separate wear. Remove it to hide the bolt ring clasp at the back or display it front-center. The unusual push-in bolt ring (no lever) accommodates additional pendants or charms. Versatile and stunning.
Tested as sterling silver (unmarked, typical for the era). Light patina only—never professionally cleaned. Gently wiped with soft jewelry cloth. Photos do not do justice; in-hand it’s even more impressive.
Size/Length: 17.13” without bolt ring, 17.75” with bolt ring.
Large links ~0.5” x 0.75”, small links with balls ~0.5” x 0.65”.
Weight: 30 grams
