Antique Victorian Sterling Silver Book Chain Locket, Aesthetic Movement

This exquisite Aesthetic Movement book chain and locket set is a marvelous example of Victorian craftsmanship. The substantial construction of the book chain is both bold and elegant, featuring star-shaped center stamps that evoke a machine-age, industrial feel. These are beautifully contrasted by the delicate, engraved leaf links that connect them, creating a perfect balance of strength and refinement.

The locket is equally impressive, adorned with a pale gilding of rose gold on the pansy and yellow gold on two other motifs—a spray of wheat and a flower bud. The pansy center is framed by two types of intricate gallery wire. Despite its age, the locket is in very good condition with only a few minor dings on the back, which have been taken into account when pricing this set. The locket closes securely with a satisfying click, and the spring ring clasp is in excellent working order. Please note that the locket interior does not include inserts or covers.
