This fantastic niello treasure is adorned in black checkerboard patterned metalwork on both sides. I believe this could be a match striker holder. The little knob pulls out, maybe to hold a match? It's a lovely piece.
Condition: Amazing, expected wear throughout. One light ding on one side. Light ding on the knob. Little loss of niello along the edges on one side.
There's minor patina and has not been professionally cleaned. I leave this up to the new owner. I have only gently wiped with soft jewelry cleaning cloth. This is an exceptional treasure and if you love niello, this will be a favorite in your collection!
