Travel back to the height of the 19th-century "Archaeological Revival" with this stunning Etruscan-style Orb Charm. A quintessential Victorian treasure, this piece showcases the intricate granulation and wirework that defined the era's fascination with ancient civilizations.

This style was popularized in the 1860s and 70s by the Castellani family in Rome. It features granulation (the tiny gold "studs") and filigree (the delicate twisted wires) arranged in a sunburst motif around the sphere.

The three-dimensional design ensures it catches the light beautifully from every angle.

Victorian Etruscan Revival (Circa 1860–1880).

Material: 14K Gold (Surface tested and confirmed).

My research shows nearly identical charms from this period were crafted in solid 14K gold. However, due to the intricate and delicate nature of the filigree, I have chosen not to perform a deep-scratch acid test on the interior, as doing so would compromise the integrity and beauty of this 150-year-old piece.

While there is a high probability this piece is solid gold throughout, I am professionally choosing to market and price it as High-Grade 14K Gold Vermeil to ensure complete transparency for my customers.

Weight: A substantial 2.5 Grams.

Dimensions: 5/8” inches long (not including the jump ring).

Excellent Antique Condition. The granulation is remarkably intact. It possesses a deep, honey-colored patina that emphasizes the detail of the filigree.

This orb is a "soulful" accessory that carries the weight of history. Because of its bold texture, it looks best when paired with an equally architectural chain, such as a Victorian book chain or a heavy rose gold trombone link.
