Victorian Sterling Silver Horse Head Horseshoe Equestrian Red Paste Pin Brooch

This exquisite brooch showcases remarkable craftsmanship, particularly in the intricate detailing of the horse's hair. The horse head, separate from the horseshoe, creates a striking 3D effect, making this piece truly stand out. The horse’s eye, set with a vibrant red paste stone, adds a captivating touch of color.

The tiny air holes on the back of the horseshoe hint at its hollow construction, a testament to the careful design. Originally designed as a brooch, it’s shown clipped onto a chain in the last photo to illustrate its size. A loop can easily be added by a professional jeweler, or it can be worn as is—either way, it’s utterly charming!

In terms of condition, this brooch is in excellent shape, with only light surface scratches consistent with age. There are no damages or repairs. A lovely patina has developed over time, and while it hasn’t been professionally cleaned, I’ve gently wiped it with a soft jewelry cleaning cloth, leaving further care to its new owner.
