There is normal wear consistent with age, including light surface scratches, and the heart padlock functions well. The side of the padlock features engraved designs that are rather simple, which is typical for many pieces of this style.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eFor transparency, this piece was purchased from my long time dealer in England that I work with. I also tested it with a Kee gold tester—the padlock tested in the 14k range. The chain itself did not show a strong reading, likely because there is not much gold content left to register, though you can see what appears to be a layer over the links.
